Virtually all of our San Pedrito Surf Hotel guests rent a car in either San Jose del Cabo or La Paz, Mexico to travel to our hotel. There are no taxis waiting at the bus stop in the tiny town of El Pescadero and it would be approximately a mile and a quarter to our hotel from there. We are located down the dirt road toward the beach; please use the navigation links to see the map to our hotel on our web site. You do not need a four wheel drive vehicle to get to our hotel. An economy rental car will do fine.

There are many, many points of interest to drive to from San Pedrito Surf Hotel. There is the hidden Palm Beach, Cerritos Beach, the town of Todos Santos which has been designated as Pueblo Magico by the Mexican Government and Point Lobos where the fishermen come in with their daily catch. You would be missing so much if you did not have a vehicle.
Another consideration is that we do not have a restaurant at our small 6 room hotel. Though we do have kitchens in our rooms, it would be a long walk just to get to El Pescadero for groceries.
We cannot offer transportation to or from San Pedrito Surf Hotel to the San Jose Del Cabo or the La Paz Airports. Our staff must stay at our hotel to take care of the day to day operations of the Hotel and to be at the service of our guests. We strongly recommend that you rent a car. We do recommend that you purchase the full coverage for your rental period. Make sure that you or the attendants note any damage to the car on the rental contract before you take possession. When the owners travel to the hotel, they like to rent from either Budget rent a car, or Payless rent a car. Just make sure that you reserve for the San Jose del Cabo Airport, Mexico (SJD)
When you arrive at the San Jose del Cabo, you will go through customs. Before you leave the airport terminal, look for your rental car kiosk inside. The rental car agent will instruct you to meet with a specific person outside the terminal. There will be many sales people from other rental companies shouting at you as you leave the terminal. Just walk past them and find the correct shuttle bus to your car company.
